On the 24th June the Dietitians Association of Australia hosted a symposium Diet Quality and cognition - the missing link? The focus of the symposium was on the importance of nutrients, particularly iron, zinc, Vitamin B12, Omega 3 and protein on brain function and cognition.

On the 13th February 2009 a unique closed workshop, Food policy and the environment - bridging the gap, was held. This workshop brought together primary producer organisations, producers, non-government organisations and leaders in public health to better understand environmental issues from different perspectives with the aim of developing a food policy in the future.
